Quite possibly the best BBQ, sides, and service that I've ever experienced at a BBQ joint! The brisket was amazing and the tacos were even better. If you're in or around Canyon Lake, you owe it to yourself to stop by (and pick up extra for leftovers), you won't regret it)!

Best bbq in Canyon lake, TX! Nik and his team are all incredible and make the tastiest food. The slaw is one of my favorite sides and the smoked turkey is super juicy and tender. All of the taco options showcase their creativity and variety - we got the pork & gorgy tacos, smoked turkey, mac n cheese, and brisket melt sandwich (pictured)
Owners are very nice. Food is Great!! We got the trinity with brisket, turkey and sausage and the loaded brisket mac and cheese. The pistachio pesto was delicious and paired perfect with the turkey. Brisket bark was sooo tasty, and it passed the bend test. Sausage was good just didn't like casing on sausage but the sausage was good. BBQ sauce tasty and not too overwhelming and the homemade picked onions were good too. Oh and free beer....You Must stop by if in area.***update*** still great food 1.5 yrs later!! So happy they are still here and the turkey sandwich is to die for! Try it you won't regret it. The boudin brisket sausage is really good, moist, good texture and flavor. Overall A must try when in town!
Just ordered again from “Nik’s not normal”. Unreal deliciousness. Second time ordering from Nik’s, got the brisket tacos. Wish I had the words to describe how good this stuff was, but I’m dumb and have poor English and vocabulary skills so you’ll have to try for yourself.
We had the house made Enchilada sausage, Brisket Frito Pie, and Smoked Turkey Sandwich on Toast w/ Pistachio Pesto. Come on! For a food truck right off the highway this place was very surprising to me. I was in the culinary industry for 15 years and I know what it takes to make it. This place has "it". Excellent service, signature dishes that you cannot find anywhere else- well executed with obvious care, and location location location. The food had me shaking my head with my mouth full and muttering, "Nik's Not Normal". We'll tell everyone about this restaurant and defintely stop in anytime we're in Canyon Lake. Great job!
Such a fun and unique spot. I’ve never been anywhere quite like Nik’s and we loved it. Delicious BBQ in an off-the-beaten path location and outdoor seating to enjoy the warm Texas afternoon. Service was great and everyone was very friendly. Made our trip to Canyon Lake extra special and highly recommend stopping in for some great local BBQ!
